Ground Beef (Keema) Turnovers

Ground Beef (Keema) Turnovers

I love this versatile spice mix, it's mild and bursting with flavor so you can do SO much with the yummy leftovers, after all the spice mix is good for 2 1/2 lbs of ground beef. You can also use the spice mix with ground turkey or lamb too. So instead of serving it with rice or Indian flat bread like naan, I decided to make an easy fusion Indian appetizer by baking it with Pillsbury dough crescent rolls. The house smelt heavenly with aromas of freshly baked dough and my ground beef dish. Best of all, my family just loved it! There were NO leftovers.
Here is the recipe for baking with crescent rolls. It makes 4 large beef turnovers.

Ingredients:

1 Pillsbury dough crescent roll tube

Previously prepared Ground beef (Keema) w/peas

Recipe:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Unroll the Pillsbury crescent roll without breaking raw dough at the triangular perforations.
  3. Break apart rolled out dough into four (4) rectangles at perforations, keeping two perforated triangles together.
  4. Fill each of the rectangles with ~3-4 tablespoons of prepared ground beef w/ peas and pull one triangle over another. Cover perforations at the corner by pinching dough to seal the edges.
  5. Cover a baking tray with aluminum foil, spray with oil, and place prepared turnovers in pre-heated over for 20-25 mins
  6. Serve with buffalo wing hot sauce or a mild sauce if desired.

    Enjoy this mouthwatering appetizer!
